Add to Lightbox DownloadA Blue Crab is feeding amongst the sea weeds in a salt creek in Rhode Island. They are common along the south coast of New England in the summer. They are a swimming crab, with paddle-like swimmerets formed on their last leg pair. The bright blue of the claws, for which they are named, is not visible from this angle. They are feisty, quick and nimble.
