A small metalic green bee feeds on nectar in Natick, Massachusetts. It is likely in the Genus of Augochlorini. They are found in cool, temperate regions of north America. The bee species (Agapostemon melliventris) has a green thorax with a black and white striped abdomen. Agapostemon virescens is a bicolored striped sweat bee found locally in the Northeast.
The family Halictinae, in an altogether different order, also has green metalic bees. Augochloropsis metallica is a species of sweat bee in the family Halictidae.
