Fox Kit Burying Rodent Deeper Cape Cod, ©JMC188CLC
Add to LightboxThe Fox (Vulpe vulpes) kit is burying his vole deeper in the sand by pushing it with its nose. He'll be recovering it to play more. Red Foxes prey largely on small rodents but will take an animal up to 7 1/2 pounds or so, or a weak animal. Foxes are nocturnal but Red Foxes are more Crepuscular, allowing for easier photography.
