A footbridge allows dry passage over a saltwater creek in the Cape Cod National Seashore's Cedar Marsh Trail. The Cedar Trail within the Cape Cod National Seashore, meanders through White Cedars and salt marsh typical of the Cape's shoreline, such as where my grandparents lived, and I explored as a child. I learned it is a very special ecosystem full of life and is a nursery for much of the ocean's fishes. This creek is similar to many. Salt marshes and mangroves remove carbon from the atmosphere at a rate 10 times greater than tropical forests.
