Black Swallowtail on Asclepias DSC_1975DY
Add to LightboxAn Eastern Black Swallowtail (Papilio polyxenes asterius) feeds on orange Butterfly Weed (Asclepias). It has extended its thin proboscis into small blossom. Alo called Parsley Swallowtail for its larval food source of the carrot family.
