Green Sea Urchins (Strongylocentrotus droebachiensis), Vertical
Add to LightboxGreen Sea Urchins (Strongylocentrotus droebachiensis), are the predominant urchin of the North Atlantic. They are also seen in the Pacific Northwest, where they are smaller than the predominant red ones there. They are about 2" in diameter. The urchins are in the same family as sea stars: echiniderms.
