Sharptail Eel (Myrichthys breviceps) + Coney Hunting Bonaire_UW©JMC_703AWBC
Add to LightboxBonaire fishes acting out shadowing behavior while hunting together at night. This Sharp-tail Eel joined up with the seabass in about 40 SWF and I followed them into quite shallow water as they hunted together that night. A Coney has 2 black dots on lower lip, as does this one. Its color is paler than usual to match his partner or the sand and rubble coral, which are light in color, he adapted to match by camouflage.
