Tavertine NF'13 432Dy
Add to LightboxFresh water streams through a vegetative wasteland in the Tablelands of Newfoundland. American space agencies call this a Mars Analog due to the Peridotite and Serpentinite rocks, also found on Mars. Water ages Peridotite into Serpentinite, turning orange as it oxidizes, and is toxic to most plants. Note the lizard-skin patterns on the green Serpentine rocks.
