Hermit Crab with Eggs UWNE
Add to LightboxRarely seen, a female Hermit Crab extends her tail almost entirely out of her shell, exposing eggs for fertilization (I assume). Part of series. These crabs, old enough to mate, were less than an inch long. I have not seen this behavior photographed elsewhere.
