A Winter Flounder is a right-eyed flat fish with big lips. It will change its color and pattern to agree with the bottom background it is on. A Winter Flounder (Pseudopleuronectes americanus) matches the sandy background it lies on. Winter Flounder have puffy, white lips. They can weigh over eight pounds. A bottom fish, flounder chiefly feed on clams, shrimps and worms. This one is swimming, which is graceful, undulating motion.
