Of all the flowers I know, an Amaryllis which had gone past it's prime is still a thing of beauty even in death. But it regenerates. An pink Amaryllis blossoming in February dries, but the leaves will nurture its bulb through the summer. While it goes dormant in the fall, it will shoot up in February when the days become longer again.
