A mother sea otter carries her sleeping pup on her belly as they float near Seldovia and Homer, Alaska. Endangered sea otter (Enhydra lutris). The pacific sea otter is listed as endangered by the IUCN. The Pacific Sea Otter population has declined greatly in the past century due to a hunting, pollution, and habitat loss. There are only about 3,000 pacific sea otters remaining in the wild.
