Two Striped Bass UWNE©JMacCausland
Add to LightboxStriped Bass will follow River Herring up tributaries after the smaller fish they feed on. They also eat seaworms, crabs and other marine life. I have observed them "shadowing" skates in open beach areas, hoping for scraps, or even the main menu, which the skate might catch. Stripped Bass (Morone saxatilis) often migrate through the the Cape Cod Canal. They are inshore fish, frequenting surf, bars, reefs, bays, and estuaries of Cape Cod Bay and beyond. A prized game fish, they grow up to 70 pounds or more.
