A Beluga Whale ((Delphinapterus leucas) at the surface. The name beluga comes from the Russian word belukha, which means white. The smallest whale, they still can be
up to 20 feet long and 2000 to 3000 pounds. They live in pods in Arctic waters. The Cook Inlet, AK population is endangered.
