After consuming three good sized eels, this Great Blue Heron (Ardea herodias) spreads his 6 1/2-foot wingspan and takes flight. His graceful form is reflected in the Cape Cod salt pond where he hunts. At about five feet tall, they are the largest heron in the USA.
