A humpback Whale (Megaptera novaengliae) feeds with mouth agape while herring gulls (Larus argentatus) surround it in an arch. An overcast day makes the water a pale blue. A thin little sand lance or sandlance can be seen on the nose of the whale.
This image was a semi-finalist in the "Share the View" International Nature photography Contest, 2023.
