Like our noses, baleen whales have two blowholes, positioned in a V-shape on the top of their head. The blowholes can be seen here. Toothed whales have only one blowhole. A Humpback Whale (Megaptera novaengliae) thrashes and swirls in the North Atlantic Ocean off Provincetown, Massachusetts, USA.
