Woodbine + leaf skeleton DSC_9669
Add to LightboxA Woodbine vine, turned red, with a leaf skeleton from a previous fall season rests on an old stone wall in New England. Woodbine is a colorful native vine with a five-leafed compound leaf. Being a trailing vine, it might be mistaken for poison Ivy, which has only three leaf compound leaf. Both grow well in sandy soil common to Southeastern New England, and both turn a pretty red in the fall.
