Add to Lightbox"Parrotfish Grin" was awarded "Best Underwater Photograph 2010", Metro West Dive Club, Boston, Massachusetts. It's an image of an adult stoplight parrotfish (Sparisoma viride). They use their tooth-like beak to scrape algae off coral, ingesting a lot of the calcium along with greens, creating beach sand. They are protogynous hermaphrodites able to change sex as needed.
