Rock Scallop in Rembrandt Colors BCUW©JMC076-30

A Giant Rock Scallop is noticeable only by its orange mantle with black eye dots. They reach 6" in diameter. Juveniles are free-swimming, but they settle into a rock crevice for the remainder of their life and are sessile, allowing sponges and seaweeds to grow all over the outer bivalve shell.
