"Echinoderms reflected" is a still life artwork of related marine animal shells. Sea Urchins are classified with the echinoderms and are related to sea stars. They are found the world over, in many varieties. Echinoderms are marine animals grouped together based on their radial symmetry. The tines, or empty shells, are very thin and delicate. They can be easily broken. The live animal has many moveable spikes, which would stem from the bumps seen on the shell. You can see images of the live animals in my Echinoderm Gallery.
