Bunch Berries + Cranberries + Lichen 103AS©JMacCausland.tif
Add to LightboxBunch Berries fruit amidst lichen and wild blueberries on Deer Island, Canada. Bunch berries, or Cornus canadensis is a low growing flowering plant in the dogwood family. They provide food for wildlife and are edible, but mealy. Cornaceae are potentially used for cancer treatment. Blue-green Reindeer Lichens (Cladina rangifera), called Reindeer moss, create a soft green pallet among the berry shrubs here.
