Anemone Fishes Maldives 284AWB_©JMacCausland'11.jpg
Add to LightboxA group of Clarks Anemonefish (Amphiprion clarkii) hide amongst the protective tentacles of a carpet anemone (Stichodactyla haddoni) in the Maldives. Clownfish secrete a protective coating allowing them to safely exist within the arms of their otherwise toxic anemone host (Stichodactyla haddoni). These are also known as Two-banded Clown (Amphiprion bicinctus).
