The sun is setting behind a Red Mangrove shrub, Florida Keys. The colors transform from Orange and reds to pastel pink and blues in a few minutes. The mangroves are important storm buffers and provide habitat for many birds and underwater communities. Mangroves and salt marshes remove carbon from the atmosphere at a rate 10 times greater than tropical forests.
