Aurora By Campfire received an Honorable mention in the 14th International Color Awards and was a semi-finalist in The NANPA Showcase 2018.
For many years I had envisioned a photo of converging pine trees at night with a stary sky. I finally found a sight with a campfire and the parting trees above. I lit the campfire and adjusted the light on the trees by adding and stirring the fire to balance the exposure with the sky. When I previewed my images, I was thrilled to see an aurora overhead.
