Sandy Neck dunes form a seven-mile-long barrier beach, a spit on Cape Cod Bay. It's a fragile but harsh environment, and one should follow already worn paths to allow the stabilizing grasses and plants to grow freely. It is home to some threatened animals and plants which also need protection.
