This Sea Otter (Enhydra lutris) is carrying a stone tool between his paws. He will use it to crack open clams and crabs. Endangered sea otter (Enhydra lutris). The pacific sea otter is listed as endangered by the IUCN. The Pacific Sea Otter population has declined greatly in the past century due to a hunting, pollution, and habitat loss. There are only about 3,000 pacific sea otters remaining in the wild.
