Brant (Brent) goose (Branta bernicla), is a short-necked goose in the genus Branta. There are three subspecies which winter along temperate-zoned ocean coastlines. They may be seen in small groups feeding on sea lettuce and weeds in shallow water. These were photographed in the North Eastern USA. In the summer, they breed on the tundra in the high Arctic.
