Add to LightboxA small ledge off King's Beach, Newport, RI is covered with small anemones and calcareous tubeworms, such as small split feather dusters: the Atlantic Tube Worm (Hydroids unicinata). The tube worms in RI are seldom noticed while SCUBA diving the area. The red (variable) Atlantic Tube Worm (Hydroid unicinata) can be seen emerging from the coiled, calcareous case.
