A humpback whale, a calf of Compass, breaches and splashes at the surface while his mother has dived below to feed. The calf seems to jump for the joy of just being alive on this bright, sunny day with a blue-sky colored water. The Latin "Megaptera" refers to its long, white, pectoral flippers.
