Add to LightboxGhost Fiddler Crabs (Ocypodinae) such as this have tall eyestalks which can neatly fold down into curved out sockets. They are common in tropical and subtropical regions worldwide. These crabs excavate extensive boroughs in the intertidal zone. They pick at and eat just about any tiny thing they can.
