Lingcod Face (Ophidon elongatus) ©JMC_DSC_7102FL
Add to LightboxLike many fish, Lingcod (Ophidon elongatus) are over harvested and declining. This large, sedentary fish of the North Pacific can move quickly when it wants to. The first time I encountered one was when wading into the water at Whidbey Island, Washington, USA, where I tripped over it sunning in the shallows.
