180 imagesFlowering Plants are one of nature's most beautiful things, and their specialness is elevated by the shortness of their bloom. Socially, each flower has become symbolic of special qualities humans admire. We decorate our walls and our fabrics with the likeness of their individual beauty. You may purchase these images for your use. For full view in the Portfolio slide show mode, click lower arrows.

23 imagesNon-flowering Plants such as mushrooms, lichen relationships, etcetera are featured in this gallery. Lichens are comprised of two organisms, a fungus and tiny green algae known as cyanobacteria. It is a symbiotic relationship, similar to what coral has with some marine algae. But it is not yet known if this relationship between the Lichen's fungus and the blue green algae is beneficial to one, as in parasitic, or mutual to both.

26 imagesSeaweed is a general tern describing marine plants and algae. These are images of seaweeds usually photographed from underwater. I have long been intrigued with these often-edible life forms. Some seaweed often referred to as algae require a microscope to identify while others form giant forests housing entire communities of life in every size.

69 imagesTrees, and some shrubs, are included in this gallery. They may be shown here in full flower, or if they are conifers, with pinecones. I have separated them out from the Flowering and Nonflowering Plant galleries because they are frequently pictured within a wider scene.
